I believe each interaction with a child is an opportunity & each of us has something to gain from the company of others. Young children thrive in a stable predictable environment. So while I strive to remain flexible to each ones' varying needs each day, our days will follow a consistent schedule. The particulars may change, but the schedules remains the same. By encouraging children to learn at their own level they will gain the confidence of self-importance.
My name is Torrie Bowers and I am 34 years old. I have been in the business of providing childcare and preschool for over 14 years now, and I am continuously interested and involved in the study and theories of childhood development. As the mother of three, I look for ways to put those theories into practice on a day-to-day basis. In the classroom, my priorities are to foster self-concepts and strong socialization between children and adults. Along with self-guided discovery and open-ended activities, I believe these are basic to a child’s success and academic achievement in the subsequent years. I hope to encourage this through a variety of physical and quiet activities, explorations and lots of play, play, play.
